In the mid-September the Scandinavian delegation visited the facilities of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg  LLC in the frames of the bilateral contract between Russian Oil, Gas and Construction Workers’ Union (ROGWU) and Norwegian trade union Industry Energy.

The delegation was led by Frode Alfheim, Head of Industry Energy's Policy Section, Per Martin Labrathen, representative of Industry Energy in Statoil Hydro, and Alexander Khrol, representative from Petro media. The delegation was accompanied by deputy chairman of ROGWU Evgenyi Cherepanov.

– The aim of the representatives of Norwegian trade union was to see the infrastructure and production facilities of the Yamburgskoye field, – said Evgenyi Cherepanov in a welcoming address. – Our companies unite men who fulfill the common cause: production and treatment of raw hydrocarbons. The only dereference between them is that they work on different coasts of the Barents Sea. That is why our Norwegian friends have been eager so far to see under what conditions their Russian colleagues live and work beyond the Arctic Circle.

Gazprom dobycha Yamburg is one of the leading gas producing companies of Gazprom Group. The company actively applies the cutting edge technologies including IТ- based technologies. One of them is the implementation of multi-level integrated information-management system for technological procedures in the Kharvutinskaya area – the prototype of future unmanned operation. During the technical visit to the comprehensive gas treatment unit № 9 the Norwegian guests saw how the engineers of the unit not only control all the parameters of the production but operate the gas well from the control board.

– The organization of the production is undoubtedly at the high level, –Frode Alfheim shared his impressions. – If we compare it with the production complex of Norway then I would say there is no significant difference between them. There are some nuances but they are determined by that you operate on the solid ground, and we work on the oil platforms in the shelf sea area. We were struck by the volumes of the produced gas. The amount of the blue fuel produced in the Yamburgskoye field is equal to that in the whole Norwegian shelf. It is fantastic!

When visiting the shift settlement of Yamburg the Industry Energy representatives has seen for themselves that the management  team of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg considers one of the paramount goals creating decent working conditions for the staff. According to Alexander Khrol its infrastructure has carried literally the delegation off their feet:

– Your Company has created not only all the working conditions but also recreational environment for the employees. They have got all the necessary dwelling facilities during the shift and even more. Our gas industry workers on the platforms have to dream of much that you have.

The next day the Norwegian trade union delegation of Industry Energy moved to Novy Urengoy, where they met with director general of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg Oleg Andreev and chairman of primary trade union organization Valery Nagoga.

– As you know Gazprom and Statoil Hydro are partners for the Shtokman field development, – said representative of Industry Energy in Statoil Hydro Per Martin Labrathen. – And having visited the production facilities of one of the biggest gas producing companies of Gazprom we have seen with our own eyes that our partners have a colossal experience in the development and exploitation of the northern fields. And that is why we are positive that our collaboration in this unique project will be highly productive.
