"Gazprom dobycha Yamburg" / Press-centre / News / 24.06.2010 - Gas facilities of the Yamburgskoye field are being prepared for winter
“During the gas field shutdowns a great amount of work is performed in the shortest possible time.” - Mikhail Partilov, the chief of production and technical division of the gas production directorate of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg, says. “It is more convenient to give “some rest” to a gas field right in the warm period of the year while the gas offtake in the production fields is considerably reduced.” It enables us to check the technical state of the equipment and pipelines that are permanently under high pressure in the operational mode. Not only the employees of the gas production directorate but also those of some other directorates and branches of the Company (Field infrastructure development directorate, Production capital funds repair management directorate, Emergency repairing directorate etc.) as well as a range of contractors (DOAO Tsentrenergogaz) and fire fighting units are engaged in the summer repairing works. This season the consequent shutdown of the gas fields of the Yamburgskoye filed has started in accordance with the time limits laid down by Gazprom, since the second half of May. GP-4 was the first to receive the “rest”. The repairing “procedures” were performed simultaneously in two facilities, in the Comprehensive Gas Treatment Unit (UKPG)-4 and Preliminary Gas Treatment Unit (UPPG)-4A. “On the whole a typical range of scheduled preventive measures was conducted in GP-4“, – Mikhail Partilov said. – “It includes checkup, repair and reconstruction of the current equipment as well as the replacement of the outdated one“. Apart from GP -4 the scheduled repairing works will be done in other eight UKPG and five UPPG of the Yamburgskoye oil, gas and condensate field. Their duration will vary from five to fifteen days depending on the amount of necessary works. And GP -6 of the Yamburgskoye field is to face the longest shutdown this season (28 days). The reason for such a long outage is connected with the hydro testing of equipment of the Comprehensive Gas Treatment Unit and Boosting compressor stations (BCS) as well as with the reconstruction of BCSs. On the whole, preventive measures will be carried out in 57 industrial facilities. “Being one of the oldest plants of the Yamburgskoye field GP-6 demands far more attention.” - Mikhail Partilov explains the reason for the preventive measures lasting so long. “So, more employees will be involved here.” The whole range of measures to prepare the gas facilities of the Yamburgskoye field for the operation in the coming autumn and winter period will be accomplished by mid September.
