On June 20 the oil and gas production directorate of «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» marked the 15th anniversary in the Novozapolyarny settlement.

The senior management of «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg», heads of the company branches, of the Tazovsky region authorities and the veterans of the Zapolyarnoye oil and gas condensate field development arrived at the settlement to congratulate the staff of the directorate celebrating a jubilee.

The oil and gas production directorate was established as part of «Yamburggazdobycha» (now «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg») in 1994. They were set a task to organize a pioneer expedition to the Zapolyarnoye field, to construct surface faculties and further to develop it. 

On September 30, 2001 at 23 hours 15 minutes the first commercial gas of the Cenomanian deposit of the Zapolyarnoye field was shipped to the most powerful comprehensive gas treatment unit -1S (its annual capacity is 35 bcm).

At the end of 2002 the second unit was put on stream, the following year the third one was commissioned.

On October 2, 2004 the Zapolyarnoye field reached its project capacity - 100 bcm per year.

Over the decade and a half not only production facilities appeared in the tundra. A modern settlement for the company workers has been constructed, it is called Novozapolyarny. 

Oleg Andreev, director general of «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg», noted in his congratulation to the employees of the oil and gas production directorate:

- Three gas treatment units of the Zapolyarnoye field are the quality mark of the gas industry of Russia. It relates to cutting-edge technologies as well as living conditions and what is important to the attitude of our employees to their job. But it is not the time to rest on the laurels. In the near term we are to develop new Neocomian deposits of Zapolyarnoye. I am convinced that, -he said, - that an alloy of experience, single-mindedness, selflessness, expertise of the employees of the directorate enable us to deal with this task excellently and in due time.

The number of the oil and gas production directorate’s personnel is some 600 people currently. Since the beginning of the Zapolyarnoye field development around 650 bcm of gas was produced. Director general of the company Oleg Andreev presented memorable signs, diplomas of Merit and honorary mentions of «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» to twenty employees of the directorate at the solemn meeting.

Asgat Khabibullin, veteran and the first head of the directorate, who was in charge of the pioneer mototransport team on April 4, 1995, says that he is amazed by what he has seen now. «Though during my working career, - he goes on, - I have seen plenty of fields. Here there is fabulous level of automation, high organization of production, modern infrastructure, not only fantastic living conditions but also leisure facilities».

 «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» is not only the guarantor of energy security of the country but also of social stability.  The Zapolyarnoye field is in area of the Tazovsky region. During the years of cooperation the company has allocated over 8 bn rubles for its development besides tax payments.

Igor Petukhov, first deputy head of the Tazovsky region, noted: «Coming of the company to the area of the region has become a life-changing event for us: substantial investments have been made into the local budget, the «road of life» has been constructed, which bettered the life of the people greatly, community facilities such as a surgical complex, trading post «5-6 Sands», fire station and many other facilities were constructed and transferred into ownership of the municipality. I can enumerate them for a long time. The inhabitants of the Tazovsky region are grateful to you. We can state with the confidence that during the referendum on the development of the Zapolyarnoye field in 1993 they made a right choice».

At the concert concluding the festivities song «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» was performed for the first time. Author-performer Artur Gorlovetsky composed it for the anniversary of the company. The present event became an excellent reason for its presentation.
