The Company not only meets the requirements of environmental legislation of Russia but tries to comply with the demand of international environmental standards and execute resolutions of the UN Conference on the environment and sustainable development in Rio de Janeiro (1995 year) and in Cape Town (2002 year). In addition, «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg LLC» tries to follow Guiding principles on sustainable development worked out and approved by International gas union (IGU) in its day-to-day operation. Environmental policy of the Company is primarily targeted on: - conservation of nature environment in the area of gas industry facilities and rational use of natural resources; - maintenance of industrial and environmental safety in the course of construction and operation of production facilities; - maintenance of environmental safety of regions where «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» facilities are located. Regulations on production environmental control are in force in the Company since 2004 года. This document stipulates objectives, goals and objects under control, as well as business subdivisions acting in it, the scheme of their interaction. With this document coming into force «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg» started to implement environmental management systems in compliance with standard system requirements GOST R ISO 14000:2007. The Company annually concludes a civil responsibility agreement for personal injury and property and environment damage. "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg" executes a wide range of activities focused on implementation of resource saving technologies. Operational efficiency of the Company is largely contingent on the result of scientific researches, development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies in the domain of environmental protection in « Gazprom dobycha Yamburg ». Leading branch institutes, institutes of Academy of sciences, universities and other scientific and production firms are engaged to obtain this purpose. Their work is performed with regard to well-known vulnerable nature of the Far North and Polar regions. It is characterized by permafrost, thick bogginess and water flooding, rather thin moss and vegetable cover, slow character of biochemical processes due to a long polar winter and short, chilly summer. Therefore arctic and subarctic zones of the Western Siberia pertain to the regions of elevated environmental risk and require delicate approach to environment and its protection in the course of development of hydrocarbon fields. To estimate the level and degree of technogenic impact there has been established the system of production quality control of environment in "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg". Laboratories of environmental control have been organized and accredited to technical expertise in the Company fields, they have modern analytical equipment and measurement systems. "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg" recultivated and delivered to permanent (working) committee of the Tazovsky region - at the Zapolyarnoye OGCF – - at the Yamburgskoye OGCF – Performing environmental activity "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg" informs of its intentions, challenges and achievements in the domain of environmental safety: articles, news-bulletins, reports are published. Environmental achievements of the Company have been noted by several state awards. "Gazprom dobycha Yamburg" was named the winner of the Second All-Russian contest «Leader of environmental activity in Russia » several times. |
