In addition, «Gazprom dobycha Yamburg LLC» tries to follow Guiding principles on sustainable development worked out and approved by International gas union (IGU) in its day-to-day operation.

The arctic and subarctic zones of the Western Siberia pertain to the regions of elevated environmental risk and require delicate approach to the environment and its protection in the course of development of hydrocarbon fields.

Regulation on production environmental control has been in force in the Company since 2004. This document stipulates objectives, goals and objects under control, as well as business subdivisions acting in it, the scheme of their interaction. Gazprom dobycha Yamburg is implementing and supports the effective environmental management system in compliance with international system requirements ISO 14001.

In 2009 the Environmental policy of Gazprom dobycha Yamburg was put into force the priorities of which are:

·         conservation of nature environment in the area of gas industry facilities and rational use of natural resources;

·         maintenance of industrial and environmental safety in the course of construction and operation of production facilities;

·         maintenance of environmental safety of regions where Gazprom dobycha Yamburg facilities are located.

·         applying telemetry and telemechanics well systems in gas dynamic surveys.
