Gazprom to Children program

It has become a good tradition, trademark of Gazprom that the company is an initiator of large socially significant projects among which is gasification of Russian regions, Gazprom to Children program. Support of childhood and youth, children’s creation, promotion of sport were and remain important lines of charitable activity of Gazprom itself as well of its subsidiaries.

Gazprom dobycha Yamburg contribution into implementation of large-scale program Gazprom to Children includes:

·         patronage over four schools of Novy Urengoy;

·         the Company scholarship to the top students of Novy Urengoy technical school of gas industry, Yamal oil and gas industry, Tyumen oil and gas university;

·         action Christmas Present, in the course of which over 4 thousand children of
Novy Urengoy, settlements of Tazovsky, Nakhodka, Tanama, Antipayuta, Gyda; the Tazovsky tundra annually get presents for the long-expected holiday;

·         yearly targeted social assistance to the gifted students of Novy Urengoy art schools for participation in international contests;

·         sponsorship of contests The Student of the Year, Polar starlet (Polyarnaya zvezdochka) and Polar star in Novy Urengoy;

·         support and development of children and youth sport in Novy Urengoy, Salekhard, Tyumen.

Gazprom dobycha Yamburg completed the construction of a sport complex in Novy Urengoy in 2009. Commissioning of this sport facility is a remarkable event for the Company employees as well as the citizens of Novy Urengoy as the availability of sport facilities in the town makes only 24 % of standard demand.

The new sport complex in one of the key regions of OAO Gazprom activity is primarily targeted at children’s sport development. In 2010 Junior Sports School Yamburg in which 1200 children-sportsmen can perfect themselves in 12 kinds of sport including Olympic ones. It should be noted that on the basis of sport and fitness complex it is planned to realize the program of physical rehabilitation of disabled children, over 300 of them live in Novy Urengoy.
